[UPDATE-1] Thailand discovers six new coronavirus cases on Thursday, all in state quarantine; patients were returnees from Saudi Arabia and India

Thailand’s government said on Thursday that it discovered six new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, all in state quarantine.

It is the 24th straight day without cases outside of state quarantine.

The number of cases is now up to 3,141 infected.

One more patient has recovered from the virus bringing the total number of discharged patients to 2,997.

There are 86 people who are still in hospital with the virus.

The death toll remains at 58.

In State Quarantine

Panprapa Yongtrakul, a deputy spokesperson for the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), said that five of the confirmed cases were Thai students arriving from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and one was a female patient returning from India.

As of June 18, there have been 30,201 Thai returnees and 204 of them were found to be infected with the virus while in state quarantine.

From that figure, 65 cases were Thai citizens coming back from Indonesia. This was followed by 34 cases from Kuwait, 28 cases from Saudi Arabia, and 15 cases from the UAE.

Currently, 119 patients have recovered and 85 are still be treated.
