Thailand’s government said on Friday that it had discovered seven cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours in state quarantine.
The patients are three Thai returnees from Saudi Arabia, two Thai returnees and one Indian male engineer from India and one Russian student.
The new discovery brings the total number of cases up to 3,461 cases.
There are no new fatalities leaving the death toll at 58.
Two people have recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. This means that the total number of discharged patients is now at 3,312.
Currently, 91 people remain in hospital.
There are now more than 28.3 million confirmed coronavirus cases globally. On Friday, it was reported that 303,170 cases were found within the past 24 hours.
More than 20.3 million people (71.8 per cent) have recovered from the infection and more than 913,000 (3.2 per cent) have died from the disease.
Currently, there are around 60,700 patients being treated as severe cases.
There were more than 6.5 million confirmed cases in the US alone with 196,328 deaths.
With 4.5 million cases, India has surpassed Brazil as the country with the second-highest number of infections but with much fewer deaths toll than the US at 76,304 fatalities.
Brazil recorded more than 4.2 million and 129,575 deaths followed by Russia (1 million / 18,263) and Peru (710,067 / 30,344).
On Friday, India reported 96,760 confirmed cases and 1,213 deaths followed by Brazil (40,431 / 922) and the US (38,811 / 1,089).
