As the crackdown in Rajprasong happened, protests erupted on campuses across the country

As police were using riot shields and water cannons to crackdown on pro-democracy protesters in Bangkok on Friday, student-led protests erupted on college campuses across the country in solidarity.

According to several rights groups, security forces may have arrested up to 100 demonstrators for violating the government’s emergency decree and rallying against the Prayut Chan-ocha government on Friday in Bangkok.

During the crackdown, students as young as 15 were chased and beaten by riot police.

In a show of solidarity, university and high school students across the country held impromptu rallies in solidarity.
