Thailand’s government said on Friday that it had discovered nine cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours in state quarantine.
The patients are two Thai returnees and seven visitors from the Philippines (1), Switzerland (2), India (1) and Kuwait (1), France (1) and the UK (1).
The new discovery brings the total number of cases up to 3,861.
There are no new fatalities leaving the death toll at 60.
Four people have recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of discharged patients to 3,697.
Currently, 104 people remain in hospital.
There are now more than 53 million confirmed coronavirus cases globally. On Friday, it was reported that 642,653 cases were found within the past 24 hours.
About 37.2 million people (70.1 per cent) have recovered from the disease and nearly 1.3 million (2.4 per cent) have died from it.
Currently, there are around 95,600 patients being treated as severe cases.
More than 10.8 million confirmed cases were found in the US alone with more than 248,000 deaths, followed by India (8.7 million / 128,000) and Brazil (5.7 million / 164,000).
Apart from the three countries, seven other countries have surpassed the one million mark including France (1.89), Russia (1.85), Spain (1.4), UK (1.29), Argentina (1.28), Colombia (1.1) and Italy (1.06).
The US has recorded 161,541 confirmed cases with 1,190 deaths on Friday followed by India (43,861 / 521) and Italy (37,978 / 636).
