HM the King to join the people in commemorating King Bhumibol at Sanam Luang on December 5

The government has on Tuesday asked for people to attend ceremonies and activities at Sanam Luang on December 5 to pay homage to King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s who passed away four years ago.

For the first time in history, the current monarch and his spouse, King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida, will personally join the people during the candle-lighting ceremony in remembrance of the late King who passed away on October 13, 2016.

The candle-lighting ceremony is set for an auspicious time at 19:19 p.m. on December 5 which the date of Rama IX’s birthday and the national father’s day.

The government is also asking for people who wish to join the ceremony at Sanam Luang to wear respectable and traditional attires for the occasion.
