Thailand’s government said on Monday that it had discovered 28 cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, including one local transmission in Bangkok.
The 27 other new cases discovered in state quarantine are from Bahrain (7), Myanmar (6), United Kingdom (3), France (2), Poland (2), Sweden (1), Ukraine (1), Pakistan (1), Indonesia (1), Azerbaijan (1), Germany (1), and Jordan (1).
As for the local transmission in Bangkok, the latest patient is a 27-year-old female healthcare worker who came in close contact with a previously infected patient. She was confirmed with the coronavirus on December 12.
The new discovery brings the total number of cases up to 4,237. Of that, 2,463 were contracted locally.
There are no new fatalities leaving the death toll at 60.
17 people have recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of discharged patients to 3,940.
Currently, 237 people remain in hospital.
