Bangkok risk-areas and new regulations

The Thai government announced on Wednesday that they have found 17 new coronavirus cases in Bangkok. This brings the total number of cases found in the capital to 108.

Here is an updated list of the confirmed places patients have been to in Bangkok as reported by the Ministry of Public Health. For the previous list, please head to the link here.

Restrictive measures

Due to the new surge in cases, the Bangkok metropolitan government has also announced new restrictive measures in the capital to prevent the spread of the virus, effective from Tuesday to January 4, as follows:

  1. Closure of horse tracks
  2. Closure of cockfighting, bullfighting, and fish fighting arenas
  3. Closure of entertainment venues like massage parlors, nightclubs, and crowded entertainment venues that include live music, performances, alcohol, and mingling.

Establishments that served alcohol are allowed to operate as restaurants only, while restaurants that have live music are to be closed at 12am, live music and performances are allowed only when strict social distancing measures are implemented, and are to be closed at 12am.
