Thailand discovers 194 new coronavirus cases, 181 local infection cases

Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health said on Thursday that it had discovered 194 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

Of that number 13 were cases found in state quarantine while 181 cases were local infection cases.

Government spokesman Dr Thaweesin Visanuyothin said that the number of local infections was likely to increase because many more cases were waiting for confirmation.

The virus has spread to 51 provinces with Samut Sakhon, Rayong, Chonburi and Bangkok the hardest hit.

Nongkhai, Mahsarakham, and Kanchanaburi reported cases for the first time.

Thaweesin said that the provinces that have not seen cases should enforce regulations strictly to halt the spread of the virus.
