The government reported on Friday that it had found 175 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours.
Of those, 167 were local infections and 8 were found in quarantine facilities.
Of the 167 local infections, 47 were found via tests at medical facilities and 120 via proactive tests at high-risk factories and communities, mostly in Samut Sakhon, where the second wave began, and Pathumthani.
This brings the total number of infections since the pandemic began last year to 24,279 cases. While 20,210 people have recovered from the disease, 3,989 patients are still being treated.
There was no new fatality, leaving the death toll at 80 people.
The second wave of the outbreak has led to 20,042 confirmed cases and 20 deaths since December 15. Of the total confirmed cases that were found during the second wave, 80 per cent were found in Samut Sakhon alone.

Clusters and provinces
The second wave of the outbreak has reached 63 out of the 77 provinces in Thailand so far.
The number of provinces that are still reporting cases has dropped from 24 provinces during 17 January and 23 January down to 16 provinces between 31 January and 6 February and 11 provinces so far this week (7 February – 12 February).
The hardest-hit province continues to be Samut Sakhon, which reported 15,411 confirmed cases between December 18 and February 12.
This was followed by Bangkok (905), Chonburi (650), Rayong (581), Samut Prakan (361), Chanthaburi (221), Nonthaburi (170), Pathumthani (151), Ang Thong (113) and Nakhon Pathom (79).
Of the 167 local infections reported on Friday, 95 were found in Samut Sakhon, followed by 60 in Pathumthani, nine in Bangkok and one each in Chonburi, Nonthaburi and Samut Songkhram.
