Jennie of BLACKPINK and G-Dragon from Big Bang are reportedly dating, in a relationship that was an open secret within the industry, news reports said Wednesday.
The 25-year-old singer-songwriter and 32-year-old soloist and rapper have reportedly been seeing each other for about a year, according to South Korea’s leading media and paparazzi outlet Dispatch.
According to Dispatch’s report, the two celebrities would meet secretly and often had their dates at home. G-Dragon had a personal parking lot and private elevator for his penthouse, which Jennie could use without providing any identification.
Jennie would visit the rapper’s home once her activities were over for the day, then return to her own home, and repeat the same schedule the next day, Dispatch said.
The two celebrities work under the same agency YG Entertainment, and collaborated before Jennie debuted with BLACKPINK and when Big Bang was at its peak. She has also appeared as the female protagonist in G-Dragon’s music video “That XX”, and featured on his album title song, “BLACK” back in 2013. They also performed together to promote the song.
Their relationship has reportedly been a known secret within YG Entertainment, Dispatch claims. The managers of the two artists would help take Jennie to and from G-Dragon’s home in secret.
A close source to the artists told Dispatch that “quite a lot of people at YG have noticed their relationship,” before adding, “Jennie’s mother is also aware of her relationship with G-Dragon. She’s thankful that he takes special care of her.”
YG Entertainment has so far refused to directly respond to the reports, saying they “cannot confirm anything about our artists’ personal lives. We ask for your understanding.”
