More floods heading for Bangkok, city authorities warn

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) warned 11 communities in nine districts along the Chao Phraya River to be prepared for more floods in coming days.

The Thai Meteorological Department expects more rain in the lower central region and the upper south region between now and October 2.

The Office of the National Water Resources expects more water from the upper region of the Chao Phraya River and the Pa Sak River to reach Bangkok, which could lead to possible flooding along the river, as well as the Bangkok Noi Canal and Maha Sawat Canal.

The districts warned of possible floods over the coming days are Bang Sue, Dusit, Phra Nakhon, Samphanthawong, Bang Kho Laem, Yan Nawa, Khlong Toei, Bangkok Noi and Khlong San.
