Famous Thai online vendor Pimrypie has come under fire after selling discounted tickets for a football match between Manchester United and Liverpool, and reportedly offering a private dinner with the footballers and K-pop star Jackson Wang.

Pimrypie, or Pimradaporn Benjawattanapat, became viral after selling a huge amount of The Match Bangkok Century Cup 2022 tickets, with a 4,000 to 5,000 baht discount from the full prices.

She further said that ticket buyers might get a chance to watch the players’ training, attend Wang’s concert rehearsal, and have dinner with them.

The event took a sharp turn when organizer Fresh Air Festival on Friday denied the sale of the concert rehearsal tickets and a private dinner with the singer and footballers.

Football fans who previously purchased the tickets at full prices, were enraged, blasting Pimmypie for unfair ticket acquisition, while some Wang’s supporters called on the organizer to take legal action against her for deceiving fans and ruining the K-pop star’s image.

“How will the organizer take responsibility for this,” asked one netizen. “This has caused substantial damage to the artist.

However, Vinij Lertratanachai, executive of Fresh Air Festival, said in an interview with PPTV that Pimrypie had obtained two available spots for the private dinner, which was earlier denied by the organizer’s social media.

“It’s up to her to decide whom she will invite,” said Vinij.

This adds to the fans’ confusion over whether or not there will be a private dinner with the K-pop star and footballers.

Vinij also clarified that the discounted tickets were from both football teams’ unsold ticket quotas and were designated for international fans before Pimrypie acquired them at regular price.

The football match is scheduled for July 12 at Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium, with Wang performing a one-hour pre-match concert.

The hashtag #พิมรี่พาย (#Pimrypie) is trending on Thai Twitter, with over 765,000 tweet mentions as of the time of writing.
