Supporters of the Move Forward Party (MFP) were gathering at their rallies in Phuket and Chiang Mai over the weekend.
In Phuket, MFP deputy leader Sirikanya Tansakul said if the party becomes government, they have plans to lower the electricity price by 0.7 baht within the first year of governing by lifting the fuel adjustment tariff (Ft) rate.
Party Leader Pita Limjaroenrat said the party is looking to put overhead power lines and cables in the city underground.
He said the party will push to pass the Progressive Liquor Bill that has been shelved so that the people in Phuket can enjoy their local beers and create a digital hub in the city where Agoda was created in order to create more jobs.
He also said that the party is looking to prove that the critics who said the party will never win any MP seat in the south are wrong.
In Chiang Mai, Progressive Movement Co-leader Pannika Wanich and Former Spokesperson of the now-dissolved Future Forward Party (FFP) who is helping the MFP with their election campaign, said the people in power might be able to dissolve the FFP but more people will vote for MFP, its predecessor, this time around in order to teach the state a lesson.
“The more you try to destroy us, the more the MFP will grow,” she said.
The FFP won 81 MP seats at the previous general election in 2019 with 6.3 million popular votes. The MFP is now aiming for more than 100 MP seats with more than 10 million votes.
Pita insisted that his party will never form a coalition with military-backed parties. For priority in the city, the party is looking to fix the smog problem by passing the Clean Air Bill that has been shelved.
