MQDC’s ‘Cloud 11’, which will be Asia’s largest ‘creator hub’, has secured project finance to be ready to open its doors in 2025.
Cloud 11, a mixed development spread over 27 rais (10.6 acres), on Sukhumvit road, is being developed by the country’s leading developer MQDC. Cloud 11 would have an ecosystem for Asia’s creators and a new center of creativity and innovation.
The project that is located between Punnawithi and Udomsuk BTS stations would have a gross floor area of 254,000 square meters.
“MQDC thanks Bangkok Bank for long-term project finance to help complete Cloud 11. The project will be a hub for creative entertainment businesses and entrepreneurs in the new creative economy, opening opportunities for the new generation in the region,” Suttha Ruengchaiphaiboon, CEO of MQDC said.
“We’ve worked with Thai and international partners on building a creative ecosystem with world-class studio space, a digital art museum, a concert and e-sports hall, and academic institutes to make Cloud 11 a regional creator hub. The project is 70% complete and will be finished by the end of 2025.”
Cloud 11 was designed by Norwegian design studio Snøhetta and leading Thai architectural firm A49 collaborated on the design of the spaces for creative businesses and professionals.
Creator Village represents Grade A+ workspace and a suite of co-studio spaces. The creative retail space of 71,000 square meters will feature over 250 outlets and host creative events. Major tenants include a market hall by the COMMONS and international retail brands targeting the creative industry.
The academy zone will gather schools and institutes from Thailand and abroad. The zone will feature a school for performing arts and a script writing academy.
Cloud 11 Hall will stage concerts, support emerging artists, and hold e-sports tournaments. Cloud 11 will be Bangkok’s largest rooftop park, welcoming residents of local communities and hosting performances and art shows by the young generation.
The project will have ‘Sangsan Bangkok’ which will have 252 rooms for creative executives, artists, and tourists. The 5-star lifestyle hotel will be Marriott International’s first launch of the Tribute Portfolio brand in Thailand.
Apart from this the project will also have YOTEL Bangkok, which is a smart hotel with a unique stay experience. Bringing the cult brand to Thailand, the hotel will have 250 rooms for creators and new-generation travelers.
Cloud 11 is one of the magnet innovation cluster projects in the South Sukhumvit neighborhood, which spans from OnNut to Punnawithi, Udomsuk, and Bangna.
Cloud 11 has won 4 major design awards including “Mixed-Use Concept” and “Commercial Concept” at the 14th “Rethinking the Future” awards and a Platinum award for “Property Development – Mixed-Use Project” at the Outstanding Property Award London (OPAL).
Cloud 11 is under construction by Thai Obayashi Corporation. The project is now over 70% complete and is set to open for service in 2025.
