Listen to this story

MQDC has checked all 17 of its projects for safety after the earthquake, using external specialists in a four-step process:

  1. Preliminary inspection: MQDC engineers checked the building structures and found no major damage. The inspection was completed by 29 March.
  2. Detailed structural inspection: MQDC engineers inspected all projects, including their structure, architecture, fire systems, lifts, electrical and communication systems, plumbing, and pools. The inspection, conducted from 29 March to 2 April, found no structural damage affecting safety.
  3. Inspection with external experts: MQDC engaged four external specialists: INFRA Group, an engineering and architectural design consultant; Stonehenge, a construction design and project manager; KCS & Associates, an engineering design and construction manager; and C-Insight, a structural engineering specialist. The joint inspection ran from 29 March to 3 April.
  4. Inspection under BMA regulations: This check will be conducted using Google Forms.

MQDC will coordinate with insurers to allow residents to make claims and will carry out repairs to restore the original architectural finish.
