Siam Piwat Group, a leading real estate and retail developer, hosted the “BIMSTEC Young Gen Forum: Where the Future Meets” on April 2–3, 2025, at ICONSIAM.
The event was part of the BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) Summit, which Thailand is hosting from April 2–4, 2025, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok.

Siam Piwat stated that the event enhances Thailand’s reputation as a regional center for economic growth and innovation. ICONSIAM, a landmark along the Chao Phraya River, continues to serve as a premier venue for international conferences and events. The forum attracted over 300 registered participants from various countries, offering a key opportunity for building international academic and business networks.
The BIMSTEC Young Gen Forum provided a platform for youth and emerging entrepreneurs from the seven BIMSTEC member countries—India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Nepal—to meet, exchange ideas, and share experiences. The goal was to drive economic growth and sustainable development in the BIMSTEC region, focusing on areas such as connectivity, trade and investment, science, technology and innovation, agriculture and food security, environment and climate change, people-to-people relations, and security, including emerging threats like cyberattacks.
A special keynote address was delivered by H.E. Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chairperson of the Advisory Board to the Government of Bangladesh and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. His address aimed to inspire participants and share concepts of sustainable economic and social development.
BIMSTEC serves as a key platform for fostering international cooperation among countries in the Bay of Bengal region, focusing on economic, social, and technological advancement. Thailand’s role as this year’s host underscores the global community’s confidence in its leadership in driving regional collaboration and positioning itself as Asia’s economic hub, while empowering the younger generation to step onto the global stage.
