Tant files defamation charges against netizens for sharing picture of ‘lookalike’ during PDRC protest

Chitpas “Tant” Kridakorn, a Democrat Party MP, filed lawsuits on Monday against netizens for sharing pictures that allegedly show the protest-leader turned politician kicking a sign.

The image, which has been circulating on the internet, depicts someone who looks like Chitpas putting her foot on the sign of the Royal Thai Police Headquarters during the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) protest in 2014.

Ramet Rattanachewong, the Democrat party lawyer, said that the circulation of the photo will be met with legal action and warned people of sharing such images.

Chitpas said that the photo is not her and urged the police to bring the individual in the picture into custody.

Chitpas was one of the leaders of the PDRC protests in 2014 which raided the Royal Thai Police Headquarters and accused the police of corruption and colluding with the Yingluck government.

She is currently on the House Committee for Police Affairs.
