Singha says it will sue protesters for defamation

Boon Rawd Brewery, the parent company of Singha Beer, said that it plans on suing protesters for defamation after social media posts accused the company of aiding security forces in their crackdown on protesters at parliament.

Pro-democracy protesters and security personnel clashed on November 17 after protesters tried to march on parliament to pressure the government to amend the constitution.

Water cannons, tear gas and riot shields were used to keep protesters at bay resulting in injuries on both sides.

Since November 17, protesters have taken to social media to accuse Boon Rawd, which has property nearby, of aiding security personnel in their crackdown.

Boon Rawd has denied the allegations and said that it would pursue legal actions against all social media users making the accusations.
