Srettha Thavisin is a prominent Thai businessman and was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sansiri Public Company Limited, a leading real estate developer in Thailand. He resigned from his position in Sansiri to seek the prime minister’s chair as one of the PM candidates for the Pheu Thai Party.
Srettha received his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, and later obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Sasin.
Srettha began his career in the real estate industry in 1984 when he joined the Development and Promotion of Science and Technology Talents Project under the Government. In 1988, he co-founded Sansiri.
Under Srettha’s leadership, Sansiri has become one of the most successful and respected real estate developers in Thailand, with a focus on high-end condominiums and housing projects. The company has received numerous awards for its innovative designs and commitment to sustainability.
Srettha is also actively involved in various philanthropic and charitable activities, particularly in the fields of education and healthcare. He serves as Chairman of the Chulalongkorn University Alumni Association and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bangkok Hospital Foundation.
While he is one of the PM candidates for a leading political party, Srettha is not listed on Pheu Thai’s party list and is not running in a constituency. Srettha has gone on record saying he has no interest serving as an MP and would prefer an advisory role should he not become the next prime minister.
